“Poetry is when an emotion has found its thought and the thought has found words.”
- Robert Frost
I've been thinking a lot about this website and what I want it to be. Ultimately, I want this to be a place to share insight into what I've learned by spending time outside in order to encourage others to explore the outdoors. It's a site for travel tips and silly stories of mishaps turned life lessons. It is also a glance into my personhood, whether that is purposeful or not.
It's no secret that nature is a grounding force in my life. I feel connected to it, to God, to myself. It spurs my creativity, often in the form of journal entries and poems. Since I share so much of who I am on this website, I decided I'll share this part of who I am, too. So here is a short poem I wrote inspired by nature.
Sweet moments each day
one extra pause to appreciate
one extra smile
maybe even a hello
in order to make
roots between us grow
to nurture delight
to harvest her power
every moment
we take
to notice the flowers
in her hair
embroidered in a sweater
as drawn by the clouds
procured by the weather
each time we look
we get closer
deeper
to the truths of life
we don't need to know
we just need to notice
Poetry in Motion
Noah and I pulled over on the side of the road because it was the most beautiful sunset we had ever seen! The picture may be a little blurry, but the moment was captured and lives on. This is what I mean by notice... pull over for sunsets! Look at the tiniest wildflowers! The world is full of detailed moments. Those detailed moments turn into paintings, poems, essays, or simply live in your memory and bring a smile to your face.

Thanks for reading and being part of this website. If you are ever compelled to get creative while outside, I highly recommend surrendering to that feeling. Let your mind wander as your feet do. Enjoy the details.
So beautiful my sweet Tiffany,;Love you, Dad..xo
