Back From My Summer Hiatus

Hello, wonderful, beautiful humans! I’m back from my summer hiatus! You’ll be hearing a lot more from me in the near future with outdoorsy tips. I have a bunch already coming your way, but let me know if you have any special requests (shout out to Danielle! The Bear 101 post you requested is written and ready to publish).

I took this summer to go out and adventure, which meant spending a lot of time off the laptop. It was a glorious summer, with most nights spent in tents and hotels rather than in my own bed. This summer’s theme was rafting, baby! I got to play in the IK (inflatable kayak), paddle downstream with some rad people, and even get behind the sticks to oar. I met amazing people and made new memories with those already close to my heart. The river is my happy place and I am sooooo blessed to be able to do what I get to do. I still can’t believe my life! A big thank you to my partner, Noah, and his family for being raft experts (with equipment, woohoo) and teaching me how to oar.

When I wasn’t rafting, I was exploring more of Portland with my girlfriends, visiting family and friends back in Michigan (congrats Abbey and Alex Perry!), tending to my very first garden, and traveling to Europe. What a wild summer! Here are some pictures if you wanna take a look at what life looked like the past few months.

But alas, my body (and bank account) calls for balance! I’m back from the whirlwind of summer to settle into writing and simply being home. I’m so grateful for the gift of this summer and am looking forward to being here and progressing this website.
